by • 01/22/2017

As we enter the third week of the new year, there’s plenty of new activities to get involved with. Here are just a few things that I’d recommend as we approach the end of the month.

Dahlia Dreams

Gardens by the Bay

18 Marina Gardens Drive

20th January – 19th February, 9am8pm

Price: $8-$28

With the nation moving into a state of full-fledged festivities, Gardens by the Bay has pulled out all the stops with this Lunar New Year’s floral display, featuring flowers like dahlias and begonias in auspicious shades of vibrant red and yellow. On theme for the year of the rooster, look out for the many different adaptations of sculptures, moon gates, pavilions and more. A definite must visit for friends and family alike.

Health Promoting Malls: Fitness Interval Training (F.I.T)

Wednesday, 25th January, 7pm – 8pm

Westgate – The Courtyard on L1 (outside Samsung)

Get your sweat on at this free HIIT class at the Westgate shopping mall in Jurong East. Registration starts from 6:30pm, so arrive early to claim your spot. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle, towel and a mat. Persuade your family, friends or colleagues to join you to work off some of those CNY treats!

Istana Nature Guided Walk

Office of the President of the Republic of Singapore, Orchard Road

Sunday, 29th January, 8.30am6.30pm

The Istana usually opens its gates to the public on five main holidays during the year, namely Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa, Deepavali, National Day and Labour Day. On Sunday you can take a guided tour of the Istana and also the gardens, for a small fee ($2-$10). Use this festive season to visit the scenic office of the president for a family day out and in the process refresh your memory on our proud nation's history and its humble beginnings. Arrive early, as queues can get very long.

Spring Surprise 2017

Whilst your visiting the beautiful displays mentioned above, why not drop by Spring Surprise 2017 for multiple stage performances, craft booths, traditional Chinese music, and a meet and greet with the God of Fortune. Not to mention a momentous evening for "Rise of the Golden Phoenix" the biggest ever LED Phoenix makes its Singapore debut.
